Our mission is to partner with sports professionals and other celebrities in using their God-given

platform to share Jesus Christ with the world.

We know that people look up to, admire and even worship professionals in the sports world. Because of this, they have earned enormous media attention and exposure.  We exist to capture the testimony of these special individuals by producing videos and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world. 

If winning is your main goal, there are sure to be a lot of highs and lows.  Some good times and some bad times.  Some triumphs and some defeats.

We believe that playing for Jesus is the most important thing.  He is our rock and our firm foundation that will never crumble.  Whether you win or lose the game, Jesus gets the glory. When you Play4Him, you never really lose.  

Play4Him is a non-profit based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is God’s Word inspired by God and without error. (2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe there is only one God who created all things and is perfect. He exists eternally in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each are unique and yet are co-equal as one God. (1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Corinthians 3:17)

We believe that Jesus is God’s Son born of a virgin, died on a cross and raised from the dead on the third day. He is the only way of salvation. Those who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior become children of God and receive eternal life. (John 1:1-5, John 3:16-17)

We believe that we were created to have a relationship with God but we are separated from Him because of our sin (Romans 3:23). But eternal life in Jesus Christ is a free gift to those who receive it. (Romans 6:23)

 

  • Scott Shimada, Founder, Play4Him

Scott was born and raised in the Bay Area. Originally from Richmond, he moved to Southern California to attend college at UC Riverside. After graduating, he moved to Irvine for one year until God called him back to the Bay Area. He is thankful to be the Youth Pastor at Greenhouse Youth Ministries at the San Lorenzo Japanese Christian Church where he has been serving since 1994. He is married to his sweet wife and they have three wonderful daughters.

 

  • Sabrina Chong, Videographer, Photographer, 

Sabrina is a Bay Area native and has been producing videos for Play4Him since 2019. She brings a creative touch to the team and travels the world capturing beauty in nature, weddings and events. You can follow her @sabrina.c.media.

 

  • Rick Quan

Rick is a two time Emmy award winner and the first Chinese American television sportscaster in the country. He has worked as a sports anchor in Arkansas, Hawaii and in the Bay Area. He also has his own video production service RickQuanProductions.com and operates AsianAmericanSports.com, a website devoted to profiling Asian American athletes. Currently, he is a New Anchor at KITV (Channel 4) - the ABC affiliate in Hawai`i.

 

  • Alison Stripling, Marketing Director, Play4Him

Alison is the Principal of Sparq Marketing, a boutique marketing consultancy focusing on lead generation and strengthening client relationships with email and social media marketing, clutter-free graphic design and branding, and beautiful blog design that converts.

 

    • Shaharom Stripling

    Shaharom shares his extensive experience in both engineering and sales to help companies identify areas where they can gain the greatest benefit from process and technology improvements. He puts his passion for customer service to work to ensure that all initiatives are executed to the complete satisfaction of the client. 

     

    • Miles and Jena Burris

    Miles and Jena are both from Granite Bay, Ca. After Miles was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, they moved to the Bay Area where Miles was a tackling machine as he averaged over 100 tackles his first and last seasons. Miles is a San Diego State alum and was named the 2010 San Diego State Student Athlete of the Year.  Miles and Jena are currently on to new things and making an impact for His Kingdom any way they can.

     

    • Jon Root, Blog Coordinator, Play4Him    

    When Jon isn't interviewing players for the Play4Him blog, he is the San Jose Sharks In-Arena Host. He has worked in the sports/entertainment industry professionally since graduating from Azusa Pacific University, where he played football.
